ROVE Clinic will soon open until late hours,it is reported.

This is said to help meet peoples’ demand, helping people with non-communicable diseases and to take pressure of the National Referral Hospital (NRH).

Honiara City Council Nursing Service Nurse Manager Mr Arain Simbe said this part of the Honiara City Council's plan to open clinics to the late hours, which has been successfully piloted with the Kukum clinic.

He said HCC had eyed Rove clinic to be the next after Kukum earlier but had been delayed due to challenges which accompanied the piloting of the initiative at Kukum.

Yet, the HCC tried its best to evaluate these challenges to be able to meet the demand of sick patients attending clinics after hours, meeting peoples’ need to monitor health status and to provide medical attention before a patient is referred to the central hospital.

Simbe said this initiative have been planned to be monitored for six months firstly for Kukum Clinic but due to the increased number of patients needs towards health services Rove was than eyed to be seconded to this scheme.

“We have planned to have three health centers introduced to late opening because health is one of the services effectively provided by the council to the increasing population rate in the city.

“Also to lessen the queue every morning experienced in the clinics,” he said.
